What is your role at My Therapy House?
Quality Control and Admin: I am responsible for ensuring that My Therapy House Policies and Procedures comply with legislative and NDIS requirements, and keep track of any changes.
I also work behind the scenes with Isabela to support the team and make sure client documentation and scheduling is on track, and send out invoices.
How long have you been working at My Therapy House?
I’ve been working at My Therapy House since October 2019 – almost 4 years.
Why did you choose to work at My Therapy House?
A friend told me that the team were looking for a receptionist and admin person. Although I had not done a lot of formal work in office administration, I had many years of volunteer experience on management committees for community organisations and our local kindy, and I am so grateful that Dana gave me the opportunity to transfer those skills into the role at My Therapy House.
What is your favourite thing about working at My Therapy House?
My absolute FAVOURITE part of working at My Therapy House is getting to know the children and their families, sharing their small joys, empathising with their struggles, and celebrating their amazing achievements!
What were your favourite play activities when you were a child?
I loved playing outside. Digging and gardening was my special time with Mum – we grew veggies and flowers. Dad built a small workbench for me, and with my brothers I spent hours hammering in nails, drilling holes, and cutting wood into smaller and smaller pieces. Playing inside, I enjoyed doing puzzles and playing with Lego.
As I got older I enjoyed playing, and later learning how to write, computer games.
What is your favourite thing to do when you are not working?
My children are all teenagers now, and I love cheering them on at all their sporting activities. In my quiet time I read books and take my dog for walks.
What is your favourite food?
I love spicy food of all different flavours: Mexican, Thai, Vietnamese and so on. But my very favourite food is lasagna 🙂
What is your favourite saying?
You’ll never know if you don’t give it a go!
What photo are you sharing?
This is me when I was 2 years old! Sometimes I still feel like I’m 2, and there is still so much to experience and wonder about the world around me.
