Why I Wrote Attuned Workplaces
I did not write Attuned Workplaces because I wanted to add another book to the world.
I wrote it because I could no longer ignore what I was seeing.

From my very first interactions with the team, there was something that just felt different. The environment felt warm, personal, and genuinely connected. I was looking for a place where people support one another, openly share ideas, and are passionate about growing together.

Here’s to Happy Sunny Days!

Empowerment is a word often heard, but what does it truly mean for parents?

I have always wanted to create a safe and fun place for children and their families to visit and people to work with.

Quality Control and Admin: I am responsible for ensuring that My Therapy House Policies and Procedures comply with legislative and NDIS requirements, and keep track of any changes.

I joined My Therapy House in September 2022, so it’s been 10 months for me, though it feels like I’ve been here much longer than that!

From February to May I did my placement in Community Services at My Therapy House, and Dana invited me to work here. I am very grateful to her for this opportunity, and I feel flattered to be part of the team.

Consultant on hmmm…. everything, but especially security, IT equipment, IT systems, property maintenance, business and the latest idea by Dana. I created the business name “My Therapy House”.

I am an Early Years Educator, Kindy Teacher we used to be called when I first started teaching in the 80’s. My teaching background, training, knowledge and passion for the importance of play in children’s development have led me to the role of Development Through Play Therapist at My Therapy House.

I was job hunting as a new graduate when I saw the job advertisement for My Therapy House. The description was exactly what I was looking for —a close-knit team, supporting children through a play-based approach.

I am the Therapy Assistant at My Therapy House. This involves assisting therapists with, for example, creating resources for clients; administrative duties; as well as working with clients under the supervision of therapists.

I’ve wanted to work at a place with a team; where I feel supported, can gain knowledge from observing and interacting with colleagues and brainstorm ideas with them on how to support children and their families.

March is Women’s History Month, and we would like to introduce you to several women who are pioneers in child development and have a strong influence on what we do at My Therapy House.

The weather has been rather odd lately but as we get more into summer, the days are getting longer and the weather warmer. It is wonderful to be outside out enjoying time in the sunshine.

There is blossom on the trees, and the sun is starting to peek through the rainclouds. If you’re lucky you might see Mother Duck out for a walk with her little ducks!

As a team, families often ask us when, or even if, they should tell their child about their autism diagnosis. Parents can be at a loss as to how they can explain what autism is to their children and what it means for their daily lives.

All of a sudden it’s dark, cold, and so very wet. If you can get outside there are plenty of opportunities to pull on gumboots and raincoats, and jump in muddy puddles like Peppa Pig and her family!

Because of the COVID-19 situation here in Adelaide, we are continuing to be extremely vigilant about who is able to enter the clinic. We are constantly updating our policies around our COVID-19 response.

The mornings are getting cooler, and it’s getting darker earlier. Even though the days are still very warm the leaves will start changing colour soon, and different flowers are showing their faces. Happy Autumn!
